Brian Nistler is an Associate Attorney at Ruddy Gregory, PLLC. Before joining Ruddy Gregory, Mr. Nistler was an Associate Analyst at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority ("FINRA") in their Market Manipulation group. While at FINRA, Mr. Nistler’s work included: analyzing market data for potential violations of securities laws and regulations; investigating potential money laundering, pump and dump, or prearranged trading cases; investigating market manipulation related to high frequency trading, American depository receipts, exchange-traded funds; and drafting memoranda and legal referrals to the SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory organizations.
Prior to working at FINRA, Mr. Nistler was a J.D. Distinguished Fellow at the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney for Arlington, VA. He assisted with a variety of felony cases including white collar crime cases, embezzlement cases, and perjury. He also wrote motions, oppositions to appeals, and responses to cases in the Arlington County Circuit Court, The Court of Appeals of Virginia, and The Supreme Court of Virginia.
Mr. Nistler earned his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law in May of 2014. During law school, he served on the Executive Board of the Legislation & Policy Brief as their New Media Editor. He was a Senator for the Student Bar Association, and the Justice of his Phi Alpha Delta chapter at American University, Washington College of Law. Additionally, he served as a Dean’s Fellow for Professor Carl Monk and researched a variety of civil procedure issues.
Mr. Nistler is currently licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
