Jeff Stoltz is Of Counsel to Ruddy Gregory, PLLC, in the Washington, DC office. An attorney for over a dozen years, Jeff assists small business owners, entrepreneurs, and freelance professionals start, operate, grow, and protect their businesses. Jeff focuses his practice on corporate and transactional matters, including serving as outside general counsel, advising on venture capital and early stage fundraising, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, assisting with purchases and sales of businesses, and guiding clients through the entity formation and maintenance process.
Prior to private practice, Jeff worked at FINRA, where he protected investors through enforcement of the federal securities laws and regulations. As an Enforcement Attorney Investigator, Jeff worked closely with retail customers, conducted on-the-record (OTR) interviews of registered representatives, and researched trading activity to uncover potentially violative conduct by firms and brokers and craft remedies that addressed those problems. As part of FINRA’s Office of Fraud Detection and Market Intelligence, he performed investigations into potential insider trading activity, market manipulation, and other fraudulent activity by industry insiders.
Jeff previously served as a judicial law clerk at the District of Columbia Superior Court and worked in private practice at a boutique DC-area firm. Originally from Colorado, Jeff has called the DMV area home since 2004.
